Hillarys Boat Harbour upgrades completed
Peter Katsambanis MLC, Member for North Metropolitan Region, has welcomed news that upgrades to the Hillarys Boat Harbour have been completed by the State Government.
“With more than 4 million visitors each year, Hillarys Boat Harbour is one of the top destinations along Western Australia’s magnificent coast for both tourists and locals alike.” Mr Katsambanis said.
The two projects include a $1.2million upgrade of the northern car park to provide an additional 65 car bays and the $3.3million demolition and reconstruction of K and L jetties.
The existing K and L jetties were replaced with a secure floating pen system that meets modern design standards. The new system saw the delivery of 107 pens and can accommodate vessels up to 15 metres in length.
“The replacement of the pen system improves safety and amenities for penholders and reduces ongoing maintenance costs.
“These projects have been completed on time during the quieter winter months so they can be ready for use by the public over the busy summer months.
“I look forward to seeing even more locals and visitors enjoying this terrific local asset at Hillarys Boat Harbour.” Mr Katsambanis concluded.
