Butler Train Station will open on 21 September

Peter Katsambanis MLC, Member for North Metropolitan Region, today welcomed news that the Butler Train Station will be open on Sunday 21 September 2014.

“It is fantastic to see this vital transport project delivered for the northern suburbs three months ahead of schedule and $20 million under budget.” Mr Katsambanis said.

“Commuters will be able to access a number of bus feeder services which will connect with Butler Station, in addition to the uninterrupted pedestrian and cycle path along the rail line from Manasota Approach and a 930-bay car park.

“It is great news for residents of Perth’s northern suburbs that they will have these exciting new public transport options available on their doorstep.” Mr Katsambanis added.

Butler Train Station will have digital display boards, landscaping, public art and security cameras linked to the Public Transport Authority’s central monitoring room.

A new bus service, route 491, will soon be introduced to cater for Two Rocks and Yanchep residents. In addition, existing routes 480, 482, 483, 484 and 490 will be diverted to service Butler Station.

Before the station is opened to commuters, Transperth will conduct extensive testing and driver training.
