Big boost for Two Rocks Boat Ramp

Boating enthusiasts using the Two Rocks boat ramp will receive a big boost with improvements funded by a $518,000 grant from the WA State Government.

"I am pleased that the Liberal-led government has recognised the growing demand for local boating facilities and the need to modernise the Two Rocks boat ramp to better cater for those who use the ramp on a regular basis," said Peter Katsambanis MLC, Member for North Metropolitan Region.

The $518,000 grant, part of the latest round of Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme grants, will be used to:
* widen the two boat ramp lanes;
* install a new 50m floating jetty;
* upgrade the revetment wall and access path;
* install solar lighting; and
* upgrade the marine safety and information signage around the Two Rocks Boat Ramp

"These works will certainly improve the efficiency and safety of the existing ramp." Mr Katsambanis said.

"Having received many requests for improvements of the Two Rocks facilities, I know that the new works will be greatly welcomed by local residents and all users of the facilities.

"I am looking forward to seeing these works completed as part of the on-going rejuvenation of the Two Rocks area that will make it an even more exciting place to live in or visit." Mr Katsambanis concluded.
